Tarsicio “Ticho” Lona, age 81, of Chicago, IL passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday,
January 1, 2025. Tarsicio was born in Romita, Guanajuato, Mexico on March 17, 1943.
He is survived by his devoted wife Mariana Lona; his sons, Marco, Tarsicio Jr., and Silverio Lona; two
daughters, Marisa (Angelo) Cordoba and Adriana Lona (Alex Tirado); three grandchildren, Isabella &
Micaelangelo Cordoba, Christopher Lona; and his nine siblings. He is preceded in death by his father
Antonio Lona and mother Guadalupe Lona.
Tarsicio had an incredible work ethic and devoted his career working as an expert in auto collision repair
and had a skill set for various trades. He enjoyed restoring a 1953 Chevrolet pickup truck which he
painted candy apple red. This was his pride and joy.
Following his retirement, Tarsicio and his wife would visit beautiful Guanajuato, Mexico frequently to
visit their siblings, nieces, and nephews. He also embraced his new home in Chicago and enjoyed
frequent visits to Lake Michigan, Lincoln Park Zoo, and neighboring parks. Tarsicio also loved gardening, a
hobby that brought him joy.
Tarsicio touched many lives with his kindness and generosity. He had a radiant smile and spirit that will
be missed. Dad, you may be gone from our immediate sight, but you will never disappear from the
depths of our hearts; we will love you always and forever, may you rest in peace.

Tarsicio nació en Romita, Guanajuato, México el Marzo 17, 1943.
Le sobreviven su devota esposa Mariana Lona; sus hijos Marco, Tarsicio Jr. y Silverio Lona; dos hijas,
Marisa (Angelo) Córdoba y Adriana Lona (Alex Tirado); tres nietos, Isabella y Micaelangelo Cordoba,
Christopher Lona; y sus nueve hermanos. Le precedieron en la muerte su padre Antonio Lona y su madre
Guadalupe Lona.
Tarsicio tenía una ética de trabajo increíble y dedicó su carrera a trabajar como experto en reparación de
colisiones de automóviles y tenía habilidades para diversos oficios. Disfrutó restaurando una camioneta
Chevrolet de 1953 que pintó de color rojo manzana dulce. Este era su orgullo y alegría.
Después de su jubilación, Tarsicio y su esposa visitaban con frecuencia Guanajuato, México, para visitar a
sus hermanos, sobrinas y sobrinos. También acogió con agrado su nuevo hogar en Chicago y disfrutó de
frecuentes visitas al lago Michigan, al zoológico Lincoln Park y a los parques vecinos. A Tarsicio también
le encantaba la jardinería, le daba alegrías.
Tarsicio tocó muchas vidas con su bondad y generosidad. Tenía una sonrisa radiante y un espíritu que
extrañaremos. Papá, puede que ya no estés a nuestra vista inmediata, pero nunca desaparecerás de lo
más profundo de nuestro corazón; Te amaremos siempre y para siempre, que en paz descanses.
