Jose Salgado, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, entered eternal rest peacefully at home on June 9, 2024, at the age of 68.
Born in Michoacán, Mexico, on December 6, 1955, to Aristeo Salgado and Magdalena Martinez, Jose arrived to Chicago in the early 1970s with hopes and dreams. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family. Known for his kindness, faith, compassion, and strength, he was a supportive and caring man. Despite facing significant health challenges, he never lost his sense of humor. He was a joyful man who cherished celebrating life's milestones.
Jose was a resilient warrior who fought bravely until the end. An intelligent and understanding man, he became a father figure to many, generously sharing his knowledge and advice. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Jose is survived by his wife, Maria de la Luz Salgado; his children, Elia Daisy Salgado, Jose Salgado, Jr. (Miriam), Diana Ruby Salgado (Tomas), Juan Antonio Garcia (Leonor), and Francisco Javier Garcia (Alicia); his six grandchildren, Karen, Abril, Johnny, Gael, Josiah, and Canela; his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren, and in-laws.
A visitation for Jose will be on Thursday, June 13th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Sourek Manor Funeral Home, 5645 W. 35th ST, Cicero. A funeral mass will be on Friday, June 14th at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment St Casimir Cemetery, Chicago, IL. For more information call 708-652-6661.
