Gary S. Epperson passed away on December 25, 2019 at the age of 66. U.S. Army Veteran. Arline captain for American Trans Air “ATA”. Beloved husband of Janet Augustine. Loved traveling around the world. Masonic member for over 30 years. Master Mason and Knight Templar, American Legion and Vietnam Veteran, Green Beret and Member of Special Forces.  Gary started a career ferrying crop dusters from Lock Haven, PA to Mexico. He was a flight instructor in 1975. He flew DC-3’s for Manhattan Airways, flew for Continental Aerial Services doing mapping, lots of small jobs/small groups, General Aviation and flew G1’s as a Captain. ATA- 757 Captain, L1011 Captain and a G1 Captain. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fly fishing, superb gunsmith, and played football in high school and college. His greatest quality of all was his love and compassion for everybody he met. He never met a stranger he didn’t like and could converse in almost any subject. He excelled in paying attention and learning. He was extremely brilliant. The epitome of a gentleman. He adored his faithful puppy, Dottie. Visitation is Sunday, December 29th from 3 to 8 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave, Daren, IL 60561. A Masonic service will begin promptly at 7 p.m. For more information call 630.-852-3595
